Vasilikon is one of the first winemaking enterprises of Cyprus, founded in 1993 by three brothers: Hercules, Georgios and Yiannis, each of whom possesses professional skills that led to the fact that after 20 years Vasilikon wine became known not only in Cyprus but also outside the island: Hercules has knowledge in the field of entomology, Georgos — in the field of law and management, and Yannis — in the field of marketing and commercial activities.
Annually about 600 000 fine wines are produced at the winery. Grapes for production are collected from their own vineyards: Xynisteri, Sauvignon Blanc and Morocanella for white wines; Cabernet, Marafhefto, Shiraz and Mataro for the red wines.
Wines from Vasilikon winery annually win prestigious awards at Cypriot and international competitions.
In the range of the winery you can find several excellent types of wines.
Vasilikon is a dry white wine made from the Xinisteri grape variety, grown on their own vineyards.
Einalia is a wine, named after the goddess Aphrodite, born from sea foam near Pafos, is a rose dry wine made from grape varieties Marafhefto and Shiraz.
Agios Onoufrios is a red blended wine from Marafhefto and Lefkada with a small addition of Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot, grown in vineyards in the Paphos region.
Methy Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine that ripens for two years in the new French oak barrels, which is then placed in bottles and continues to ripen in them. Wine has a deep red color, just emanating a scent of green pepper, capers, red fruits, impregnated with tanning notes.
Vasilikon wines can be found in many restaurants, wine boutiques and large supermarkets. And, of course, you can come to the winery, get acquainted with the production process and participate in free tasting. Guests are invited to the winery from Monday to Saturday from 8 am until 3 pm.
Around four years ago, the winery moved to a new modern building of about 400 square meters: on the ground floor there is a wine boutique, on the second floor there is modern production, and on the third floor there is a wine museum, a hall for tastings and lectures, office facilities and a luxurious terrace with magnificent views on the mountain slopes and the sea.
The winery is an excellent place for weddings, banquets or small conferences.
